Starting the Amazon Case Study
This post is about this Amazon experiment. Its main purpose is to show people that it is indeed possible to make good money using the Amazon affiliate program.
Finally, the CMS that I designed is complete, today was the last day of debugging. The site is live, and I am officially starting the experiment. The goal of this site is to make $500/month in 1 year’s time, but I am actually aiming for $1000. Of course I will be using it to build about 10 of these affiliate stores, but the case study only revolves around the first of them. I will not reveal the niche, let alone the URL, for obvious reasons. So, today is March 23rd, and the site has the following stats.
URL: haha, you almost got me there
Products uploaded on the site: 6
Pages indexed by Google: 0
Yahoo linkdomain count: 0
Majestic SEO linkdomain: 0
SEM Rush traffic value: 0
Uniques in March: 0
My goal for the month of April is to upload 50 more products and to start the link building process.

I just started an amazon niche site recently. It was rather expensive, got it from a failed traffic program. They do have some great widgets I use on my blog and website. Just need more traffic.
Good luck.

Thanks for the good luck wish Terry. I think Amazon has a great affiliate program. Even though the cookies only last 24 hours, I still get a conversion rate of 12-15% on an average month. One of the keys is how you manage to get the call to action through to the visitors.

hi Paul, looking forward to see your report, coz I’m trying to get my first sale from Amazon after 1 year still 0
I still update it though … so far I only use SocialBookmarking, Article submission (just recently), and adwords
